Johnny Rockets – Middletown, NY

Burgers, and milkshakes, and ketchup smiley faces…oh my!

This summer, I attended my first blogger conference, Blogger Bash. During the conference I was introduced to Johnny Rockets. The lunch they provided was absolutely delicious, and I couldn’t wait to get over to the make your own milkshake station.

Last week, I was thrilled to experience Johnny Rockets for a second time with my daughters and friends. Logging onto the Johnny Rockets website, I was easily able to locate the nearest restaurant, in Middletown, NY, which is about 45 minutes away. The girls were eager to pile into the car with visions of french fries and milkshakes dancing in their heads.

Joining me on our road trip was my friend, Kara, newly on Weight Watchers. She was able to access the menu ahead to time to calculate her points. She decided on a Grilled Chicken Breast sandwich with a side salad, instead of fries.

The girls were excited to try BLT sandwiches, while I opted for The #12 Burger. This delectable burger is topped with cheddar cheese, iceberg lettuce, white onion, pickles, mayonnaise, and Johnny Rockets’ signature “red, red, sauce” (chili ketchup with a kick.) The french fries, which are bottomless, are crispy and seasoned just right.

Of course, our fries came complete with a ketchup smiley face.

After a big meal, the girls (and I) shared a S’mores Shake. This marshmallow flavored shake is handcrafted with vanilla ice cream, chocolate, and Nabisco graham crackers. I am a big fan of s’mores, and this shake was the perfect combination of flavors. It actually made me feel like I was gathered around the campfire roasting marshmallows.

The girls cannot wait to come back to Johnny Rockets. The service at the Middletown location was impeccable. Our waitress was prompt and courteous and the manager was very attentive. He even came to check on us to remind us that we could have a french fry refill.

We all agreed, it was definitely worth the trip!

We received free meals for the purposes of this review. As always, all thoughts & opinions are 100% my own.
